Updated on March 11, 2021

Your domain name is your online identity and intellectual property of your business. This is the key of success on internet. Suppose if you own india.com or USA.com, you can drive traffic to this type of domain without any promotion. Always choose search engine (SEO)friendly and get index in google in one day. So wisely choose search engine friendly domain name, when you are registering domain please consider following thing in mind.

Go for Higher level domain:

Always choose higher level of domain like .com, .net, .org, .edu etc, if your business (mainly shopping website) geographical limitation then you can go for country domain extension like .in, .asia, or .us etc. If your name is available always go for .com, this extension is widely used for commercial website and this is SEO friendly also.

Must include keyword in domain:

Always include keyword in domain name especially if your website or blog is niche related. Like mine I have blog to help blogger so I choose “blogforblogger.com”. Inclusions of keyword make your domain search engine and SEO friendly; also look trustier to user.

Try to make your domain memorable:

Always try to make your domain easy to remember and spell. E.g. 4star or fourstar which is better , always go for “fourstar”; this type of domain is long time memorable.

Avoid Hyphens:

Hyphens make very difficult to remember, e.g. blog-for-blogger or blogforblogger which is memorable? Now choice is yours. Although hyphen make your domain search engine friendly, but if you want regular reader than please avoid it. Ever seen any big company domain with hyphen?

Avoid trademark name:

Name containing a trademarked name could result in a legal battle, so avoid it.

VeriSign's dispute policy, for example, reads: "It is your responsibility to determine whether your domain name registration infringes or violates someone else's rights."

Use domain suggestions tool:

Always use domain suggestion tool like godaddy.com, domainbot.com etc.. Check all suggested domain name carefully and then choose one perfect domain for your business.

Just follow the tips and get indexed in Google in one day. Feel free to add your own tips, suggestions and experiences in comments.
